A lot of people seem to be enjoying my first two books, which is really great. But I have to admit, a benefit of writing that I hadn’t anticipated, was all the incredible people I’ve met along the way. At the end of my books, I list my email address and encourage readers to write me. And I’m awfully glad I have. Many of the readers who I’ve conversed with as a result, have turned out to be really fascinating people.
I’ve met people (virtually) from all over the world. From Australia, to Egypt, to Israel, Turkey, and even Malaysia. I’ve met chaplains, teachers, pilots, engineers, scientists, soldiers (both past and present), and fellow writers. I’ve even heard from a few friends who I hadn’t talked to in years, and who read one of my books without even realizing I wrote it until the end. Talk about a fun “catch up”.
Best of all, I’ve had the privilege of really getting to know many great people that I otherwise would never have met. Some readers in special fields have even volunteered to be subject matter experts for me for future books, something which I cannot even begin to describe my gratitude for.
So this post is for all of those of you who have written to me, sometimes just to say hi, and sometimes to get to know each other. It’s a real honor.
Michael
